Red eyes in cows - but not pink eye?

My cows have red eyes but do not have the symptoms of pink eye. They behave normally and have no other problems...other than all my neighbors ecusing them of having pink eye. Any thoughts on what else woul cause persistant red eyes?

Dust, chaf from hay, seeds, allergys for starters

They're probably just dry, likely from the climate conditions in your area, any dust, playing around in hay, etc.
