Red Baldy poll

So went to the sale today as well. Got a nice surprise on the red baldy pairs I bought last week.

They are registered animals!! And I done banded all the bull calves. Sheesh!

Have all info on birthdays, epds, etc and I'll post them on the other thread after this.

Curious what yall thought they were registered as, so I'll make a poll for a week or so and do a reveal afterwards.

LOL... I should start a registry for "unknown" mutts so people could sell their fence jumper progeny for more money.

But I'll play your game for fun. I was thinking red Angus x Hereford at first when I saw them but if they are "registered" I'll say they are South/Southern/Red Poll x Hereford.

Nice animals by the way. As said before, in a little more fat than I'd want them. But maybe they are prone to the fleshier look.

They are the full size models! Average weight of the pairs is 1693lbs! I threw in a couple oddball breeds just to throw everyone off! Heck with it. I'll post a few pics here too! Make it easier than going between threads.

I guessed Simmental as I know that association registers percentage animals and Hereford doesn't.
I'm not sure about the Red Angus Association, never had any dealings with it. That would be my guess number 2.
My guess is that they Hereford Simmental cross.
Whatever they are, they look good to me.

There was ONE bull that looked better than all of em. Now that I have actual birthdays, I'd have left him a bull for someone.

Someone else's culls are sometimes another man's treasure!

Well, they can't be registered Red Angus because of the white. Nor can they be registered as Herford and most certainly not Black Hereford. No ear so can't be Red Brangus, BM or Gert. so that just leaves Simm. Unless.....are they registered with more than one breed registry?! Hmm...

I went Simmental but it's just a guess. I think they could technically be registered with South Poll but those would probably be the largest South Polls I have seen.

In most cases papers are good for starting fires or wiping your rear. this would be one of those cases.

That's an interesting one!
They are registered as 75% if I remember correctly. I'll double check tonight when I'm near paperwork again.

As of right now simmental has an overwhelming lead!

That will help. Out of those , only Simm and South Poll register "breed ups".. cattle that are 7/8ths or more, and 1/8th or less other breeds.
