Here is my favorite one. Now this is a brown sauce, not the red one you get in the store or resturant's.

1c. sugar
1c. water or chicken stock (I use chicken stock)
2/3c. vinegar
2t. vegtable oil
2t. soy sauce
1/2t salt
2 cloves minced garlic
4T corn starch
4T cold water

Combine all the ingredients except the corn starch and 4T water.
Stir together til sugar dissolves. bring to a boil.
Mix the corn starch and water together and whisk into the boiling sauce. this will thicken it.

Add to your favorite dish.

I make this for a meatball dish. Family goes nuts when I make it.

try this one....

Yields about 1/2 cup
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:

* 1/3 cup rice vinegar
* 4 tablespoons brown sugar
* 1 tablespoon ketchup
* 1 teaspoon soy sauce
* 2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 4 teaspoons water

Preparation:
Mix the vinegar, brown sugar, ketchup, and soy sauce together and bring to a boil in a small pot. Mix together the cornstarch and water, add to the other ingredients and stir to thicken.

(If desired, you can add 1 green pepper, cut into chunks, and pineapple chunks as desired after adding the cornstarch. For a thicker sauce, increase the cornstarch to 4 teaspoons while keeping the water constant.)

Ingredients
3 lbs ribs, cut into sections
1 cup vinegar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup ketchup
1 cup tomato juice
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 pinch salt
1 pinch pepper
1 pinch paprika
Directions
1Put ribs in roasting pan.
2Mix remaining ingredients together.
3Pour over ribs.
4Bake at 325°F for 3 hours.
5Baste or "rotate" the ribs during cooking to make sure all of them get a nice coating of the sauce.
