Norman, I have feed whole raw beans to finishing steers at as high of a level as 24 % of the dietary dry matter with no problems. In these diets the beans were my predominate protein source. As far as weight goes the lighest calves I have used were around 600 lbs and was able to get almost 4 lbs a day gain from them through finish. These calves were every thing from purebred Angus, Simental, and almost any cross under the sun.<p>
