My turkeys and a chicken ate some rat poison today. How long does it take to leave their system?
tHEY GOT under the coop where I keep it. Has this every happenned o anyone

I would think if they eat enough of it that it would probably kill them. I am not tring to be the bearer of bad news, just being frank. Although i hope they pull through it ok.

i'm guessing some died and some havent and others are looking a little under the weather?
i figured if they ate any they'd die.
i know it kills poor little innocent house wrens dead.

did Olivia calve yet?

This isn't going to help with your turkeys and chickens but our vet tubed peroxide down our dog when he got into the rat poison and he upchucked almost immediately. I thought some of you might like to know that. He just put a small funnel into his mouth, taped him around the muzzle and poured in about half a cup of peroxide.

peroxide works, if you catch them in the act, absolutely have to have a shot of vitamin k if you want them to survive.... dogs, that is. lost my faithful boxer this winter due to the stupid town vet that wouldnt listen to me, PHD and all. Im sorry I cant help with your chickens.

So what's the outcome? Are you eating tainted turkey and chicken this week?
