Rabies vaccine

In Michigan it's required to have dogs immunization done every year and license. Family members living in different counties had dogs vaccinated and both have something like a reaction. Mopey and stiff soreness. No physical contact with dogs or owners. Both dogs very active normally. Any else have anything similar?

Kentucky also requires dogs to be vaccinated and licensed. They issue a small metal medallion that goes on the collar.

I could see the dogs having a reaction. Might Google it. Here you go. Sounds normal.

Systemic reactions include fever, depression, loss of appetite, lethargy and weakness. They usually appear within 1-2 days of vaccination and then disappear. Nervous system problems have been seen after vaccination with modified live rabies (no longer available) and canine distemper vaccines.

When I took rabies shots I felt like crap. So dogs probably do as well.
