we will be ordering semen off topsire.com what do you think we should breed them to

Breed em to a Charolais BULL you will get some nice looking off white calves, smoky calves, and buckskin calves so thats what you should go with

For the Hereford Heifer I would use Purple Tonic. I've seen a good amount of his calves and they are really nice. They would definitly do well at a county fair. I'm pretty sure his BW is in check too.

Something thick, deep, and correct. Most of your cows have a lot of set to their back leg and aren't very deep. If you want good show calves, they have to be much deeper, thicker and straighter than they are.

I agree, but I think look for a Bull that sires a back leg that is sometimes too straight. Another point; all of the cows need more bone. Don't go by the pictures on the sites. Find thick, deep, straight, heavy boned calves, and find out the sire.

From the calves I've seen, a suggestion would be Hannibal.

the reason we are ordering off topsires is because you only have to order 10 straws. and each straw can be a differnet bull.

I would think about ordering more than one straw per cow. The reason being, sometimes they don't take first time around and you need to do it a second time. Unless you have a clean up bull.

i have a hannibal heifer and i would have to say that when i bought her i would have never thought she would have got as deep as she is........which is what these cows need, and of course he sires thick big boned calves which is usually what all club calves do.

for the angus cows i would recommend EXAR Lutton or Northern Improvement because they sire really good show calves

i dont know much about herfs but this new purple millsap bull would look like a good new bull to try.

yes we have clean up bulls.

He just wants to get the best calf possible from the bulls at topsires.com. tell me what you think we should breed them to.

This is what I think. With heifers we usually just want a calf out of them. So we breed to calving ease bulls and not really worry a whole lot about 'what they look like'. Its just a plus for them to turn out good. If you ahve good cows, you should come out with a good calf. So the angus I would go with an angus calving ease bull, char calving ease bull so on and so fourth.
