Ok, picked up a bottle calf today at auction. Got her home and set up in her clean pen. She wasn't very active at first, mainly sleeping. About 3 hours later went out to put up a tarp wind block and she was standing, everything looked normal. Went to put up tarp, and she started spinning in circles to the point where she fell back down. She continued to try to get up but is not able. She is trying to keep getting up but can't. Now she is laying on her side with her legs twitching and an occasional bawl. Am I missing something here? What would make her "flip a switch" like that? She has been doing this for over an hour now. She had sucked a bottle earlier before this started. Is there something obvious I'm missing? Does this happen? I've been around many bottle calves and have never seen this.
