So, I have two beef calves I'm raising for freezer beef for family and fiends and I'm new to the entire cattle business. I'm sure I'll probably get several different opinions on this, but what grain/ feed do you supplement for the best gains. They will be on pasture when spring hits but plan on also supplementing some type of pellet/ protein/ grain mix for faster gains. I've heard that whole corn, cracked corny, silage, all stock pellets etc. just looking for what everyone suggests.

A lot depends on what you have readily available.
Corn in some form, whole or cracked is probably going to be your base. Top it with some commercial protein. A grower to start then switch to a finisher once you really start pushing the corn.
Try to maintain 1% of his body weight in grain as a grower ration and 2% of his body weight once you switch to a finisher ration. Switch somewhere around 900-1,000lbs.
