I can honestly say that this is the first time on CT I have ever seen anyone use the word "bougie." The only reason I know the meaning is because I have a daughter!

I can't believe a bunch of cattlemen have not only had that word bandied about on this thread... but we've been talking about the use of bidets.
Number 13.......

"Bougie" is an American slang term that's often used to describe someone who acts like they're wealthier or more sophisticated than they are....can be perceived as insulting.
It has morphed (at least in our area) to equate to someone saying, "Oh fancy".

Sort of like when I use a cloth napkin as opposed to my normal paper towel. 🤷‍♂️

How do you get warm water to it? Our water heater is about 60' of pipe to the bathroom and have to run faucet for a minute to get warm. Bidet would have to run a while to get to warm water. Can you point it down to get the cold out?
WARM WATER? Y'all have warm water to use?

The term can be used to describe people who have expensive tastes, or who are aspiring to be a higher class than they are. It's often used in a disparaging way, and can be perceived as insulting.
Well that helps because like GB I looked it up and that definition left me confused and a little shaken.

Must be from that french word "bourgeois". That bidet word looks to be french as well. And they have them in France. So, maybe they are related. All makes sense now.

Read that "Bougie" definition again. Maybe there are some of those bougie people here.

Most all of this sounds better than dry leaves when caught out in the woods, or corn cobs in the outhouse.
The greasy shop rag when caught out in the barn was actually pretty good, well lubricated and durable.
