Hi guys,

I researching a twine to use for baling hay in Alberta (Long Dry & Cold winters)

I was wondering what your opinion is on sisal twines, and their advantages and disadvantages over PP twines.

Cheer,
Rodney

Costs more. Will rot along with the hay when stored outside.

Not as apt to cause problems if animals ingest it.

It still wraps around axels as well as the plastic.

I use sisal twine and have a lot of trouble wrapping bales for first few bales on a new roll. And as Vett said it is quite a bit more expensive.

The only reason I use sisal is because I can leave it on the bales when feeding which is nice when it is -10 and dark in January, and raining and muddy in April. If I have to unwrap before feeding I would switch to netwrap to increase baling speed.
