IDAHO -- Presently pending in the Idaho legislature is a bill to change the state's constitution , to require that all Idaho adults be declared members of Idaho's militia.
COLORADO -- My brother living near Denver attended a meeting in their small local library a couple nights ago; a meet-and-greet-and talk session with a female state legislator, puportedly to address concerns of the local gun owners. Occupancy limit for the building is 80; but 120 were there. She immediately launched into the subject of the lack of mental health care, and was quickly interrupted by the guy whose family starred in the "Guns of the American West" TV show (Discovery channel?), who held up a 30-round clip and asked her if she knew what it was. She didn't. An obviously pregnant woman with 2 other young children, who had been the victim of rape, commended the legislator for her previous work regarding women's rights in CO, but she was furious that proposed legislation would take away her right to protect herself. Another woman at the back of the room spoke up and said she had in fact used her firearm to thwart an attempted rape. When officers investigating the incident asked if she could identify her assailant, she pointed to the corner of her room and said, "Sure. He's laying right over there." Tom said the lady law-maker barely got a word in, and was pretty much clueless about whatever is currently proposed in CO.
