Projects

Help Support CattleToday:

Irrigation every morning. That is an on going thing until late September. Started sawing up firewood. I have a bunch of juniper that was fell years ago which makes good firewood. Cleaning up the shop and some odd jobs in there. Shipping the old broken mouth cows next Sunday. After that I will have a bunch of freshly weaned calves to look after. More weeds to spray. I am sure there are other things which I will remember when they are staring me in the face.

Currently, landscaping. We have a gazillion rocks and I fill the bed of my Polaris every morning. But they have to be unique rocks with a weird shape, color, have holes in them, etc. Great way to burn off frustration & get some serious exercise.

Will you please post some pictures I'd like to see it. ❤

I like the pictures. Where do you find volunteers to work like that? Shoot we have a hard time finding people to work we pay. Nevermind your in the volunteer state. 🤣😂😅🤷🏽‍♀️ Painting looks fun for the first 5 minutes.

Okay, @Chevy. I started with lining the driveway (I'm getting pretty proficient with the track loader), then added to the gravel/shrubs/flower pots around the house. I find a lot of sheds and skulls, so now they're "decoration". Sometimes I'll also stick a bud vase or plant succulents in the holes. The last pic is the hearth of the downstairs fireplace. There's an old subterranean structure not far from the house & my husband & our builder found "Welcome" carved in the rocks at the entrance, dug them up & pieced back together (BTW, the property hadn't been surveyed since 1879 - who knows how old it is).

Thats really neat. I love the welcome rock. My maw and step dad (he passed on now) had found some old cravings on a rock at their farm. Pretty neat. If only them rocks could talk the stories they may tell us.
