I have a 2-year old Angus heifer that calved on Sunday the 24th unassisted. On Friday i noticed a bulge right behind her navel, felt around and it is full of fluid, about the size of a small football. Talked to the vet on saturday he said it could be a number of things including an absess, or hernia, he said as long as she is eating and drinking just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get larger. Anyone else ever dealt with this.

Probably edema - common in fresh cows and heifers particularly. It'll go away.

Yep. There was a thread on here a month or so ago about this very topic started by me. She'll be fine if that's what it is. If you stick your finger in the swelling area and it leaves an indentation for a few seconds, that's what it is.
