A checkoff sponsored study in which cattle were fed feed into which
probiotics were added showed a 71 % decline in E. Coli 0157:H7
compared to those not given the material.
Separately, the CDC, USDA, etc. reported that last year E.Coli
0157:H7 was down 37% from the previous year - a good sign that things
are looking up and that people at all levels of the beef industry are
taking this culprit seriously.
Fastrack® is one such commercially available probiotic that is
readily available. Their advertising says, "Fastrack® direct-fed
microbials feature two lactic acid-producing bacteria, yeast, and
