Private Treaty?

Can someone please explain "Private Treaty Sale" to me? Thanks!

The animal is sold out of the pasture,between two individuals,does not go to the salebarn. ;-) :cboy:

An example of a Private Treaty Sale would be you coming to my place and buying cattle direct from me.

Purchasing cattle directly from the seller rather than going to a sale barn or a production sale, etc....

If this does not explain adequately, let me know and I'll try again.

Well, not alwasy out of the pasture. The price is agreed upon between the seller and the buyer and not sold via an auction.

Oh bummer, I always thought is was a treaty between the Native Americans aka Indians, and the white goverment aka land thieves, Indian murderers...........that was not publicly advertized or known about. you know...private treaty......so that the world would not know that the Indians were gettin the shaft as usual. :cboy:
