Where can I find prices per pound of cattle(700 pound steers would be nice) from say 1960 until now?

Have friend whose folks have passed on, him and his sister were going threw some old papers found where his dad had sold calves in 1965 don't no how big the calves were but they averaged $100.00 a head. Those calves had more value at a $100.00 than calves today.

A man told me that he got 89 cents a pound 10 years ago. Does that sound right?
I would say he is pretty close

Seems high to me. I seem to recall more like 50 cents in the 1960s

Dun reread the quote he said 10 years ago

Average choice steers Minnesota and Iowa. 7 weights would be close to the same per 100 weight.

Well yes, depending on quality, feed prices, demand in your area. This is only an average.

Private sale, 16 trailer loads, late July sale picked up in August.
I did not have any this year but my buddy's sold theirs at 835lb for .97.
