Drugs are controlled in other countries because of socialized medicine that most folks in the US rail against.

Wanna move to Venzuela?? I hear it's a beautiful place and currently the best example of socialism on the planet. Wonder what an aspirin cost there (if they even have any). 2nd choice could be Cuba.

That is not socialism that is a elected dictator type government. You need to move to Somalia where there is no government. And about Cuba a lot of Americans are planning to retire there.

I try to keep my $$ in this country, but even with pharmas, it's difficult. My heart meds..
Furosemide--(diuretic--generic Lasix) made by Roxane West-War--produced in Ohio, but recently bought by Jordanian Corp Hikma Pharma.
Atorvastatin-(generic Lipitor) made by Apotex Corp HQ in Toronto Canada.
Isosorbide-(generic Isodril) made by US company Par Pharma--Woodcliff New Jersey.
Metoprolol-(generic Toprol) also made by US company Par Pharma--NJ USA.
81 mg aspirin-made by Bayer--a German company.

You forgot about all the people that cross over from Canada to get procedures versus a waiting list

A good number of Americans have done mini medical vacations to foreign countries for affordable dental work and or
minor medical surgeries and used the money saved to pay for the entire vacation for their family rather than having the procedures done in our over priced USA market.

Luckily, the price of medicine has been dropping so quickly over the past 8 years.


Probably from reasons like this involving medication for treatment of AIDS.

For a variety of reasons, the companies will likely favor a donation approach rather than one that erodes prices across the board. I would guess that they would also likely favor a solution that involved their drugs rather than an approach that allowed generic drugs from India to flood the US market at low prices
