Is there any way to preg test a cow other than sticking your arm in her to feel for the fetius?

On a cow who is 5 to 6 months bred or more it works. Lots of dairy farmers do this and they get very good at it. Make a fist and hold it against the right side of the cow in the area just in front of the hind leg. Give a several short jabs. If you feel some thing bump of your fist the cow is bred. I learned to do this using cow that I knew were bred and they were well along with a large calf. It takes some practice. You also need gentle cows or a chute. Believe me you can get kicked doing this. Good luck
