12 days ago my brown swiss cow had a very large calf they both seemed fine after the birth.about a week later i looked out my window and saw the cow spinning in circles she fell to the ground and struggled to get to her feet she acted like an animal that had been shot.after a minute she stood up and you would never known anything had happened.i have been watching her closely and everything seemed fine untill today when i called her up to feed she just collapsed her back legs were quivering.again a few minutes later she got up and was fine.any ideas whats happening? also she is still having some discharge.

The discharge isn't all that abnormal. If you can, smell it and see if it really smells foul, if it does she may have an infection. The back leg problem may have bneen caused by the large calf pinching a nerve and she still has a little residual problem from that. If it goes on much longer or the discharge is really nasty smelling, call the vet

It could be an infection, but since you called her a brown swiss and not braunvieh, I'm going to consider her a dairy cow, thus electrolyte balance such as low calcium could be part of the problem. Call your vet and discuss the best plan. Problems vary by area and even by farm. Good Luck V
