Post a random thought

I suspect that people post pictures by different methods. In the old days of internet forums, people generally used a picture hosting site (like photobucket). Store your pictures there. Then use a somewhat convoluted set of steps to link to the picture when you post.

For this forum that currently runs on the Xenforo platform, there is a button ("attach files" with a paper clip symbol) just below the window that you type your text into. Easy to use and I believe it uploads a copy of the picture from your computer or phone directly to the forum server, where I think it resides forever to reappear along with your post (or until the forum owner deletes it). There are many old threads on the forum that no longer display the pictures. Because they are no longer stored at that photobucket or similar site. Maybe the site no longer exists, maybe it was a paid site that the poster has dropped out of, maybe the poster deleted the picture from that site.

I think the "attach file" button here solves those issues. It accepts most photo formats/extensions, but not all. I think it does not accept a .png format, for instance.
My pics are stored in my laptop as far as I know, and as you said, I use the attach files (paperclip) to post an image.

Here are a few more examples from this thread. It is definitely a mystery, since others are able to see your pictures. It must be something on my end that blocks them.

So you've seen the last two posts I made, and the three images? If so... then I guess it wouldn't matter a whole bunch.

What thread were they on?
The ones I posted were all on this thread. "Post a random thought". It doesn't really matter, but I was curious why it was happening, and thought someone might be able to explain it.

May be an image of 1 person and text

Well... I just went back and looked and this is what I see too. I have no idea what's going on.

If a moderator (@Marie) would like to check it out, it's on this thread and post #564. There are others at least two days previously as well.

@Caustic Burno ... how are your eyes doing? Have they improved with time? And the back??? You were talking another dr appt and possible surgery again....
Eyes are good now just waiting on my prescription glasses for reading.
Left eye is 20/20 Right has astigmatism so it needs corrective glasses.
Back and neck have been doing well, thanks for asking.
I found an excellent rheumatologist about 18 months ago and she has given me my life back! Trying to figure out to do with a shoulder that psoriatic arthritis worked over before my rheumatologist got it shut down.
Don't get me wrong I'm still old my high school six pack looks more like a 2 liter and I weigh the same.

That's odd, as .png is supposedly the latest/greatest/best/New & Improved way to store and transport non-animation image files but nowadays, all web interfaces support APNG which is an animation capable image file format.

When using CT's image posting app, I often don't pay attention to the file format of the image I have chosen but have never noticed a post of mine that had a big blank in it. Below, is going to be a .png image..let's see if it posts..

file name is TEXAS!2.png

TEXAS!2.png

If you see (anywhere on CT) a big blank spot where a picture should be, right click on it and see what pops up. That should bring up a dialog box showing all the image's attributes.

I've been wearing them around the house for over 20 years. I've even wade fished with them at Port Mansfield (I put them in sport mode for that, otherwise I keep the strap on top).
My wife told me that the harness position was either 2wd or 4wd. Apparently I had them in 4wd yesterday because she asked me if I was ready to go muddin'.

She's really a fine lady, but she can keep up with my wit. Keeps life interesting and likely the reason we're still married after 28 years.
