Help Support CattleToday:

Every one of those things we've ever bought, the dog chews them to ribbons. And evidently, he is either missing something in his diet or has an especially deep hatred toward moving blankets.

Oh he hates her, but i have been trying to buy her for a year.

You need to come see how she acts with me. You'll get a major kick out of it.

We have a love/hate relationship if ever there's been one. I love the way she's built, and she's out of the nice Limo bull my Papaw had. Only have 3 of his daughters/granddaughters left.

When she weans this calf, she is yours. I really hope her heifer turns out to be replacement material.

They processed it and kept the hide but if i remember gave a lot of the meat away. People want bear meat until they eat it. Its really good if fixed correctly but really bad for most to try to cook. Thats why i dont kill them. I dont kill anything i wont eat.
I've read that the taste depends on what the bear has been eating - if it has been eating fish, it will taste fishy…if it has been eating a lot of carrion, it will taste foul…if it has been eating nuts & berries it will taste pretty good. I wouldn't know for sure. Haven't ever hunted or eaten bear.

Somewhat correct. Our lease is in the mountains so no fish. Only carrion is a deer thats gotten away after shot. Mostly berries, nuts, and actually a lot of grass and leaves.
The fat seems to carry the bad taste so as much fat as you can trim the better. Soaking the meat in apple cider vinegar and changing it every 12 hours for 3 days helps also.

I have had them that would come into the lot but were so mean when i tried to load them that i would get them after me, run into the trailer and out the side door and have a rope fixed to slam the back door. Doubt i can do that now that im on a cane.

Missy the house dog had a snake bite in a hind leg back in May, and it was swollen and very painful for a while. She's 14 years old now, so I thought maybe her age and her ouchie deserved a little bit softer place to lie down on, but alas, it was not to be. I can't put anything down, not a dog bed or even a folded fleece blanket, without it being taken over by the Evil Alien Cats. Poor Missy. The good news is she got better even without a soft bed to lie on. :)
