Just finished my second time across the field with the disc, I did a cross hatch. I still have some rather large clumps. I think I will go diagonally across it a couple times.

A nice gentle 1" of rain would soften the clods.

Around here plowing is done in the fall. The freeze/thaw and copious amounts of snow break all the clumps and make it easy to work down. And also because you can't do "spring" field work until late June/July here.

It did rain some tonight already, and probably will get some more. I think I will work on an old roller tomorrow, and get it hooked on to the back of the disc.
