They sold a nice lil bull at enid Thursday for 600 bucks. 2 weeks old. Bottle broke.
Might be best to split em and sell em

I like my Chevrolet. And my Ford too.
She seems to be getting used to it!!

If mamas not making enough milk, do ya really wanna mess with either one of em? Wish i had the time to for such shenanigans again. I really enjoyed it!

I really dislike doing that... as a buyer. I just don't have the time or energy to put into a calf without a mother, and I like buying pairs. But the economic realities are that people are willing to pay more for them if they are split.
My thoughts are, If she ain't making enough milk. She probly needs a ride to town and a career change. Most likely won't get any better next year. If it were the right time of year, I'd just put that heifer baby on a nurse cow and ship the mama.

Been a while since I was there. Before Dad passed away he lived in Hansville so I drove by there often. I remember being on the Missouri when she was docked there.

fixed a spot for a stray dog during this cold. I don't think he's visited it once though
There's a guy up the road from me that keeps a short haired dog on a chain 24/7/365. He has a metal box with blankets, completely open on one side and a lip on the box so if any moisture blows in it accumulates in the blankets. I delivered a nice doghouse full of corn husk bedding and the guy set it up so the door was slanted up and any rain would be more likely to come in. I don't get people that own dogs and keep them constantly chained.

Not going to lie, I had to Google Charlie Goodnight. An excellent read - thank you.

I like the cupola with the bird houses, are there purple Martins in your area?
The barn is about a hour from where I live. Kind of a neat bit of history and I'm glad they restored it. We drive past it every time we go to Pueblo. I'd never noticed the cupola with bird houses before. Thanks for bringing that to my attention, that is really cool. I had to google purple martins, not sure if we have them around here of not.
