Post a pic of your bull

Help Support CattleToday:

He's 14 months old and 1/3 Aberdeen (Lowline), but home-raised and filling a need. Might not be a super bull, but he works for us for now.

Great looking bull, TC. How old is he?
Thanks! He turned 6 Jan 30th. Super docile and easy to work. Twice, I've pulled a stick from between his toes in the pasture and he just stands there while I'm tugging with needle nose pliers and digging with a screwdriver. Remember The Lion and the Mouse?

Many of you will remember Lava, our bull calf shown with his dam Java (c/c) and won all over - then sold to a young lady in Florida. Well, here is Macchiato (twin to Mocha a heifer that we are getting blood tested this week - hoping not a freemartin. I know, chances are slim, but most of my freemartins are "visibly" not right. This one looks perfect. Fingers crossed)

I posted their birth. Had to have a vet out because she never went into labor.

We split the heifer twin off and put on a cow that had dead twins. This is him at about 1 month old.

This is him today, 5 months old. He is fighting the halter and not standing quite right, but you can see the good in him.

I believe double muscle calves get discounted.
I think you're right. I had a bunch of apple butts in the early to mid 80's and they brought good money but then people got scared of them because people with crappy cattle had some poor calving results and the fear took hold and the double muscled calves started to be discounted. Personally, I only had one bad calving experience with double muscled bulls and that was because the calf was a monster. Experienced, capable cows spit them out just fine.
