Wanted to get opinions on Poss calves you have or have seen. I am considering using a couple canes of both the Poss Ultra bull as well as the Poss Remington bull even though the Ultra bull is too young to have calves on the ground i watched a video of him and its looks like his tail head is high, but in person experience is appreciated

The Thedford progeny I have seen had high tail heads. The bulls you asked about I have not seen in person.

I don't use low accuracy sires so I can't help you on these bulls. However, what is your goal? If you are just sampling a couple straws then what's the harm? The EPDs on the Ultra bull are kinda all over the map (imo) but he may check boxes/match up with the cows you are mating him too (idk). If these are ultimately terminal calves then the high tail head is simply cosmetic.

One of sites selling the Ultra bull says that he will "moderate" -- which is a phrase that has come to mean very negative things to me (short calves, slow finishing, small cows). So that is one warning I'd mention -- but perhaps moderation is what you are desiring.

Neither bull's PAP EPD are very good for Colorado if you are at any kind of elevation. Remington's sire is one of the worst in the breed for PAP.
