Anyone have or use one of these? Trying to decide if we might want to go with this or build our own loading chute from wood where it's just in one permanent spot. I've never built a loading chute for semi trailers so I'm not sure what it would cost to do myself. Anyone got any design plans I could borrow that you could e-mail me or post?

Thanks

Lots of portable chute systems on the market, and from what I've seen, they aren't all good and sturdy. Do you need one portable, or not? TN, anytime you are looking for DIY plans, check out the extension sites -- your state (or really, any state). For example: http://www.agf.gov.bc.ca/resmgmt/publist/Leaflets/Beef/314-07.pdf That is just something I had book-marked. But if you go to those state/extension ag sites, you can find lots of DIY ideas.

If you buy one, get one that can load stock trailers and pots. Some have an adjustable ramp that doesn't go below 30 inches or so, which I think are useless. If your going to spend the cash, buy versatility. Also a removable catwalk and entrance door is nice.

I don't have one, but I would probably look at this one. They cost about 3k and are very heavy built.

I thought that also Aaron about it needing to have an adjustable ramp, definitely needs to be able to load stock or semi trailers.
