poor calf

calf born 3-22-12 ,noticed snot from one nostril within a few days & has continued for two months now. calf does not grow even half as fast as he should. no other symtoms except he never sucks mother dry & looks unthrifty. wormed all five days ago & no change. could this be a pi calf ?

Could well be pi. Have you tried treating the respiratory issue?

adding: I guess you know a pi animal can be diagnosed from a blood sample or ear notch? Inexpensive and results for blood test were back in about three days when I checked my two bulls this year.

really doesn't have any breathing trouble except for snotty nose, he acts normal otherwise. just doesn't grow. if it is pi calf there isn't much to do for it anyhow. trying to decide whether to try treating by vacinating & antibiotics or just knocking it in head to get rid of more problems with breeding & infecting others
