Is poison ivy bad for cows? I want to make a pasture where there are trees with it all over them. If it is bad for them what can I do to get rid of the poison ivy? Thank you

Some of our cows and calves nibble at it but don;t really eat much of it. Ssraying with Roundup will kill it, there are any number of other herbicieds that will also work.

My cows ate it readily when there was a lot of it, with no noticeable bad effect. When I bought my place it was infested with poison ivy in the woods and semi-wooded areas. I asked an old-timer what was the best poison to use to kill it and he said "COWS". So I just put the cows in, didn't poison and now 99% of it is gone. Still have a little crawling up oak and ash trees, which I periodically kill by just using a machete to cut the runners near the base of the tree and then apply Roundup, Remedy, etc. to the thick stem below my cut and of course right on the cut surface.
