I need to start covering my bales to cut down on the waste. What kind of plastic will work best? What about the color of it,black,white,clear or does it matter?
We use a hay tarp. They're a mult-layer plastic fabric that have tie ropes and rings installed that make for a very good fit over round bales. The fabric is breathable and they hay smells just as good coming out after 6-7 months as it did going in. They're made in different sizes for different numbers and sizes of bales. Solid plastic can cause problems with the bales sweating and getting pretty musty and nasty.
