I have two steers that are showing the symptoms of phosphate stones (soft mineral deposits on hair surrounding the opening to the penis) I had a problem with acidosis and was feeding sodium bicarbonate for 30 days, then noticed these deposits. I read on many info pages to feed ammonium chloride to them, it will help sofen the stones, where would I get something like this? they only weigh 540 lbs, they are too small to slaughter, can they be saved? will the discontinued use of baking soda stop this from getting worse? they both can still urinate, they dont have waterbelly. thank you for any advice you can give
