Does anyone know how to build a pea sheller?

I don't think you can build one cheaper than you can buy it. If you're talking about a pea sheller for you own garden you can get one for around $30. And it works great. I shelled a five gallon bucket of purple hulls last weekend in about 20 minutes using a bought sheller and an electric portable mixer to turn it.

This pea sheller has two grooved rollers that turn into one another. The shaft on one of the rollers sticks out the side of the sheller and thats where you attach the mixer. Clamp the sheller to a table, attach the mixer, stick a pan under the output and start feeding it peas.

Earl, that sounds good. I remember that my grand dad had made one. It was a big wooden box type thing with a screen under it. It seems like it would take a whole bunch at one time. That was long ago.
