I found it funny that people looked down on her for saying a word 30 yrs ago.... To be perfectly honest why would it even be an issue NOW ? So she said the N word, how many people from the SOUTH don't say it ? This isn't New York or California, we use the N word quit often in the south. I myself used it all the time, I was just raise around my grandma always saying it and we were an all white school. Never even seen a black person tell I got older and worked in a city.. I don't get mad when someone calls me a hillbilly or cracker or redneck.. So I really don't get why a Black person gets made over the N word. It's a word it has no meaning to it unless you believe in the meaning to it, if you don't let it bother you then people stop saying it. It's not different from a skinny kid making fun of fat kids saying fatty, they do it in hopes that they will get a rise out of the other person but if the person ignores it then they stop.. I myself do not say the N word anymore mainly due to changing my life for the better. I believe Negativity will just bring you down and make you into a worse person. It's time to feed the soul and starve the demon child..lol

I agree with most of that, I use the word all the time. I have never liked deen at all, seemed very fake, but this is crazy. The whole deal is that if a black person used a negative word about a white person years ago, and it came out like this deal it would be a whole different deal all together.

I can't help but wonder if some of these companies in their rush to wash their hand of her will offer her products at cut rate prices. Deen has some pretty quality cookware that I've been reluctant to buy due to the sticker price but maybe Walmart will put the blue light on them.
