Anyone own a parts washer? I'm in the market for one to wash small engine parts and general farm repair parts. A 20 gallon unit is the size of what I'm looking for. Do the water based cleaners work as I'm seeing water based washers and solvent based washers. Harbor Freight 20 gallon cleaner is $99.99 less a 20% coupon which drops it down to $79.99.

That's a pretty good price but you get what you pay for from Harbor Freight. It hard to imagine a water based solvent being as effective as solvent based especially on greasy/oily parts. When I was in the need of a parts washer I rented/leased one from Safety Clean. They provided the machine, serviced the machine and disposed of the used solvent. No hassle, no driving around to find Varsol, nothing but plug the machine in and get to work.
