Parents should not be offended you school's library inventory

I've been following this issue for several months through various news sources and I have to say, this is not some random book placed there by kids having fun. These books are on the library's inventory. Bought and paid for with taxpayer money - in Texas - your property tax money.

The book Out of the Dark provides graphic description of a gang rape of a 13 year old girl as well as detailed homosexual sex. This book is being placed in middle schools.

One of the many issues raised is the grooming of children for this type of activity. If you know the stats on child sex abuse, you would be very alarmed by these books. Most predators engage in the activity at least 7 times before they are caught.

As far as sheltering them - it is my duty as a parent and grandparent to protect them by what ever means necessary. Every parent I know that has children under 17 has put software locks and monitoring systems on their kids phones to prevent and identify this. And most do check the phones routinely. There are a lot of things parents can do to protect their children from this garbage. The comments here seem to condone and even endorse child porn and child sex.

I know a girl who's parents were strict growing up. She would lie and hide alot of things from her parents. She dressed a certain way in front of her parents and totally different everywhere else. When she came over her mom wouldn't let her ride 4 wheelers and do certain things with us cause it was so bad. She went to college partied like a rock star had sex with all kinds of guys, married men,(didn't matter.) She got a tattoo... her mom saw it one time she told her it was fake. She married a guy she barely new cause she wasn't allow to live with a guy. After 10 years of trying to make it work living a miserable marriage while he cheated and everything... her parents didn't believe in divorce. I seriously thought she was going to kill herself. Finally she did divorce. She has always lived for her parents and not her own life. Now she lives with a man older than her dad has no job has a street bike, pink hair, and an alcoholic.
I know other people that do the same things growing up. They would lie to their parents about where they were going or say they were staying at their friends than them and the friend would go out all night or stay at their boyfriends.
Just saying if you don't trust your children most will misbehave. Try trusting them unless they give you a reason not too.
I most definitely don't condone the books, just saying by middle school most kids have heard about all that and more.
My nephew knew what a blow job in 2nd grade. He let everyone know one Thanksgiving. His mom was so embarrassed. I'm not sure which was funnier the kid or her. I thought she was going to crawl under the table. His friend told everybody in his class.

Apparently not to all folks. Not just girls, guys too. I'm not trying to tell anybody how to parent. I'm just saying from my experience. People I know that got more freedom to make their own choices with guidance, seem to do better than people that had strict controling parents.

Instill good principles and character in your kids so that they can make good choices and decisions. Give good guidance and set a good example. Rules without principles and character - not the best way to go and not very effective.

It's so much worse than a couple porn books in the libary.

Our daughter liked these day in the life of (whomever) books. We had started going to the public libary and I had started going to police the matter after so many questionable books had come home. There was one that made me nix the whole series. The story was that of an Irish immigrant girl a hunnerd years ago or so. There was zero mention in the book about her being a Catholic. That's like writing a slave story book and saying ol' Mose got up in the morning and went and picked cotton all day and went back to his cabin and made hog's head bean stew with his 30 friends without mentioning the fact that he was black or a slave. It's absurd.

All books for kids written in the last 60 years are suspect, any from the last 20 years are simply a no go. They're garbage and useless at best, and mostly propaganda.

But it gets far worse. In 1st or second grade they were playing videos in class, which are completely unregulated. Books are tightly controlled. YouTube isn't. Anything on a compooter is fair game. The videos were video hypnosis pagan indoctrination.

I'll break that down. Videohypnosis is using a type of video designed to induce a state of hypnosis. Whether you believe in it or not, that's what it was. I'm not sure I believe in video hypnosis. The paganism they were being instructed in was Hinduism, specifically, yoga, which is the Hindu equivalent of the rosary for Catholics. It is not a different version of calisthenics. It was replete with theological terms used in Hinduism, such as balance and mindfulness. Those are theological terms. Balance doesn't mean standing on one foot and not falling over.

I made my presentation to the teacher and then the principle with pages of material from wikipedia and elsewhere and no one cared.

That's the problem. If they were using hypnosis to have kids say the rosary and teach them about the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Immaculate Conception, the Protestants would riot and burn the place down, but use hypnosis to teach them devil worship Pagan New Age theology, no one cares.

If you think gay porn books are all we have to fix, you are so late and have missed so much. The whole thing needs to go. It's everything. It all has to go.

Surprise! They've been saying they want to do it for at least 13 years. In aught 8 they said anyone who didn't vote for The Obama is a terrorist and shouldn't be allowed to fly.

My amazement is that anyone didn't see it coming.....

They've been saying for years that anyone who votes for a Republican is a terrorist white supremacist and should be put in a concentration camp and their kids confiscated and put in re-education camps. That's not from a fringe radical, but Hilary Clinton, a presidential candidate who was almost president of our country.

Unfortunately, it will not go away in our time here. These things must come. We can't turn the tide, but we can save folks from drowning in it. That's our duty.

Can we... people that are drowning and all they need do is stand up to safe theirself can we save them? We can't swim for everyone.... we can advise them on how to swim or stand up but we can't save everyone.
It kills me seeing easy fixes to people's problems yet they can't understand it. People like don't why they don't have gas money yet have cigarettes, beer, energy drinks, lottery tickets...... can't help everyone.
