The system is not likely to change. A flat tax or sales tax would work. Just do not see a viable one ever making it past discussion forums.
If a person is paying taxes and does not accept help when they qualify then how do they ever expect to get any return on their investment? No one has argued that some people abuse the system. That segment is always going to be there.
I will never be able to correlate a farmer getting disaster relief to free cell phones. We will shell out millions for storm victims, yet a farmer experiencing a drought is supposed to go under?
