I think I answered these questions last year, have you been sneaking But-lites into that dry county again No and No, he's Alpo, and I hope the dogs enjoyed him.

What makes you think you can't drink butt limes in a bible belt county? Funny, but in this dry county, there are 10 or so drug stores that sell to many of the people that attend one of 45 or so churches. In other words, drinking in public is not allowed but you can take as many valiums as you want because the church going lawmakers don't drink. Please slap me if I ask you again next year. :mrgreen:

The only purpose of seedstock is to provide the commercial cattle industry with replacement genetics. Absolute purity is one of those little ticky tack things that pure breeders like to harp on and on about that doesn't really have any signifigance outside their purebreeders club. I do kind of wish that some breeders of other breeds would just have declared they were creating a composite or a new breed rather than making "purebreed" into a bit of an industry inside joke.

I agree with Herefordchick on this one. There may be a few situations in the past that will have to be put up with, but we need to make sure they don't happen again. The purity in the measure we have it is what makes the Hereford the prime tool for crossbreeding on fifty eleven Angus influenced breeds that have already had their F1 heterosis compromised for each other and the Angus breed. If you want to know what happens when purity goes away, look at the Shorthorn breed now. It is also a matter of integrity. Herefords could lose much of their efficiency if diluted with some of the other breeds.

How about this bull cross with my Online heifers (no cert required). I would get polled and the Catalina 24H cross and I would also get JV Pearl as an extra bonus.

Herford...roflmao....go to the next county. You can meet all those guys at the liquor store and they are definitely getting friendlier..they now will at least speak to you instead of doing the "cuck and run". Joke around here is "go to the county line to drink...the state line to gamble"..

Town is about 10,000. Liquor store is at county line 15 miles away. Casino about 1.5 hours away. There are basicly three ways to perform transactions:

(1) cash
(2) credit card with non-local bank
(3) cash a personal check then use cash

The reason is because the paper trail can get around town and then you could be ostricized which is no big deal unless you are trying to make a living.
