SRR-- If you go back thru my posts you will find from day one that I have and R-CALF has supported and fought to try and get CFIA, USDA, and FDA to close all the feedban loopholes and to strengthen our BSE safeguards and not weaken them like they did...To me that is the major BSE problem- the USDA took a long researched BSE plan and at the request of the multinational Packers weakened it to the point it is about worthless...

They are allowing the science of short term economic gain of these Packers override the science of longterm consumer safety, herd health, and the long term economic viability of the US cattle industry.....

You are right Oldtimer. It really is to bad the goverment is not paying attention.

hang on there SRR, i have always made my claim that _ALL_ of North America are at risk, all one has to do is read the GBR risk assessments of Canada, USA, and Mexico. MY claim has always been, that GWs MRR policy has made legal the trading of all strains of BSE/TSE globally. Let me make this very clear again, I think all of North America should be banned from trading cattle, live or dead, until this june 2004 enhanced bse cover-up by this administration is slammed shut, all those cattle retested properly, with proper BSE testing and surveillance protocols. the testing of that enhanced surveillance was terribly flawwed from the beginning and this was proven by the OIG et al. ...TSS

O.K. flounder I am just kind off touchy with the Canadian cattle being higher risk comments when we are the ones that are at the very least, not continuing to feed blood, table beef scraps and of course Turkey crap to our cattle.
