Same canyons, just closer up and in the spring. In another month all that will be left is the sand, rocks and the Joshua trees.

Dun, those are absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for sharing. We used to live in southern california near Joshua Tree national park. I used to love going out there rock climbing and hiking. I don't ever remember there being such beautiful flowers out there though. Here is Texas the wildflowers are blooming on the road sides, in another couple of weeks the bluebonnets will be in full bloom and it is sure a beautiful site to just drive around the country. Lots of people taking pictures of their kids in the bluebonnets.

I found it interesting to watch the progression of the flowers up the hillside. A thin band at the lower part, usually in the canyon bottom. Then as the top of the line progressed towards to top of the ridge, the flowers lower down would die out and you could just see the band of color march it's way to the ridgetop with brown above and below.
Isn;t Joshua Tree around Boron?

I've never heard of Boron. It's not somewhere we went, if it's near there. You have to realize that when I lived out there I was in highschool and didn't have a car so we didn't get very far

Boron is out near the edges of Death Valley. It's kinda N/E of Edwards AFB, in the high desert. Go I-40 to Hwy 395 N towards the eastern side of the High Sierras and turn off , at which hwy I don't know. Oh crappola, between Bishop and Victorville. Really out there. They mine Borax there. By the way, great fishing in the High Sierras, especially between Bishop and Bridgeport, CA. God, I love to fish.
