We have a couple cows that have spots (usually a shade of white) that are adjacent to their eye, on their face or neck. The spots are the size of a quarter. One cow had a couple adjacent to her eye then more appeared now it appears as a patch.

Any ideas on what this is and what the treatment should be?

Thanks again

Sounds like ringworm Gary. It can be treated or left alone. We have it here and do not usually treat. Do a search on ringworm and you may be able to aquire more info to confirm if its ringworm or something else. It may spread to large patches, its ugly but not a threat to health, ringworm cattle will take a hit at sale time though, manage accordingly.

P.S. Ringworm is a fungus, not a worm.

You can get it too. Itches and will drive you mad.

Just mix up some Captain in a backpack sprayer toss some feed in a bunk and spray their faces. It'll take care of it.

But the fungus will be on your rubs and in your barn too. spray everything they rub on or it will come back.
