On Sunday I am heading off to Beaumont, TX for the Texas Junior Brahman Show, which is directly followed by the All-American Junior Brahman Show. Gonna be fun, but a LONG trip, Sunday morning to Saturday afternoon. The plus side is I get to show twice and sit around doing one of my favorite things, sitting around at shows talking with people. Just not too excited about the heat.

Texas Junior Brahman Bull Show, Tuesday starting 8am
All-American Junior Brahman Bull Show, Saturday starting 8am

Maybe some of yall around the area can come check it out.

Good Luck in Beaumont. Hope you do well.

Let us know how you do when you get back.

Well, I had fun and everything turned out as planned. Last place both shows. Had fun though, so thats what matters. It is sad though, when you walk into that barn, your neck deep in politics. Half of the animals there are not really owned by the kids. They are transfered into the kids names before show then right back to the ranches after show. I guarantee next month in the Brahman Journal youll see all these ads "Grand Champion Red Brahman Bull". All the ranches will be putting out the ads. I think its disgusting how these places care more about making a couple dollars than teaching kids to be honest and hardworking. Of course, there were the few bulls that just tower over everything else and claim to be 2 years old.

Of course, there were lots of good things going on. Some friends of mine got a hold of some Brahman semen that is not sold in the US, so they are the only ones around with that. Had fun sitting around talking with people.

I still say 6th place isnt bad, even though it was last place both shows. Have a small bull, but enjoy showing so I will continue even if he doesnt grow another inch by next show season.

Good on you,so pleased to hear you had a great show.
Yes it no great achievement to win with someone elses cattle.
Hang in there you'll win a major in time to come. I love your attitude and wish there more young breeders like you about.
The love and enjoyment has gone out of showing in lots of aspects. I love the comradeship of the shows. I have met lots of different breeders of lots of different breeds.
Keep up the good work.
Please come and visit when you come to Australia. I love my Brahmans as you do yours. I've been breeding them for over 30 years.

I agree.. you have a fantastic attitude TCB, and you are to be commended for it! I won't get into the whole Brahman thing again, but you've picked a tough breed to compete in.

I love to show also, and although I am competitive and love to win, I also really enjoy meeting and talking with other breeders and producers. There are some great people out there! You never know what opportunities will come up for you.

Hang in there and don't let people discourage you! You still have an up and coming heifer to promote!
