Nursing Home Event

This letter was sent to the Principal's office after the school had sponsored
a luncheon for the elderly. An old lady received a new radio at the lunch
as a door prize and was writing to say thank you. This story is a credit to all
Humankind. Forward to anyone you know who might need a lift today.

Dear Kean Elementary:
God bless you for the beautiful radio I won at your recent senior citizens
luncheon. I am 84 years old and live at the Sprenger Home for the Aged. All of my
family has passed away. I am all alone now and it's nice to know that someone
is thinking of me. God bless you for your kindness to an old forgotten lady.

My roommate is 95 and has always had her own radio, but before I received
one, she would never let me listen to hers, even when she was napping. The
other day her radio fell off the nightstand and broke into a lot of pieces. It
was awful and she was in tears. She asked if she could listen to mine, and I
told her to kiss my ass.

Thank you for that opportunity.

Sincerely,
Edna

That sounds like some of the things that really do happen. My dad got in a scuffle last week over his chair in the dining hall. Someone was sitting in his place and he knocked his coffee over and then grabbed the guy's wrist when he refused to move.

i work at a nursing home as the hairdresser, and in environmental services. {house keeper} one day i was on a hall cleaning got this one lady you never know about strong as a ox can be the sweetest little granny or she can be a headlock, clock clean'en granny, i had cleaned her floor she was on the other side of her bed sitting when she started to get up on the wet floor, i told her please be careful on that wet floor. she grabed me by the arm {gulp!, i thought oh here it comes} she said who do you think i am? {at this point it could either way, depending on how i handle my self} i told her well i think your ms mamie smith{named changed due to hippa}. i could see that she was getting all fired up, then she said "do you talk to everyone like that?" i said yes mam i do.i dont want any one to fall, {waiting for her to slapp my head off} then she huged me, said well its good you think of others ! boy was i lucky that day !
when i do hair if they are combative i tell the nurse "i not taken an $8.00 beaten! we'll try another day !"
its hard work but good work you have to be able to think fast, but i have such a good time with the residents, most any way. we dish the dirt, catch up on the latest, lots of granny hugs. Rose
