Ok. I've got a 14mth old heifer that won't wean. I've got her in a separate pasture from her mother but one of the heifers in the pasture with her has calved. This heifer is now suckling on the new mom. Something to worry about?? If so how do I stop it??

I had one of my best heifers do the same thing after being weaned with sister heifers for year. Like dun said, get wheels under her or eat her. B&G

It is a major problem. First, she probably robbed the newborn of it's best colostrum which can be detrimental to the newborn. Plus, she will/can make the newborn starve to death.
You can buy Kant-Suck. You fasten it to her nose (kinda like a nose ring), but she won't be able to suck.

The calf looks good and was jumping all around yesterday. Is this something I need to do today or can it wait until this weekend?
