6 month old heifer had blood in her right nostril on Thursday evening. We didn't think a lot about it. Saw her today and the same thing. Fresh blood in her right nostril. We got her in the chute a couple of hours later. No sign of blood.

It has been very hot here. Mid 90s for the last several days. Very dry. We were wondering if the heat could cause nose bleed.
Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks,
Farmgirl

Dried membranes in the nose, a stick or stiff grass seed stems, etc. If that's all that's wrong, keep an eye on her but don;t worry about.

probably been picking nose with a stick or rubbing it on a stump. they do it all the time.
