Just wondering if anyone has had a cow to give birth and after a 4-6 weeks stop milking. What in the world would/could cause that to happen? I have a cow that has done just that and she has the sorriest calf that has ever been born, anywhere. As soon as the weather fairs up a little we are going to town.

just sold one this summer that i purchased two years ago, she had 2 good calves , but after a couple of months you would see her calves sucking on any cow they could. don't think she was completely dry but she sure didn't have much milk.

My guess would be the calf never got to sucking her and she simply dried up.
