Just took my rented angus bull back. I was quite impressed with him in every way.

What to do now...
I have a good angus herd of about 45 momma cows. My operation is 80% cow-calf and 20% freezer beef but there is more demand for local meat than I can handle so I could easily see 50/50. I just raised my first grass -finished heifer and really like what I got so I think I'll try to stick with grass finished but sometimes it won't work and I'm okay with putting them on feed and am well equipped to do so.

What kinda bull fits in this program? My choices are narrow. Anugus(duh), polled hereford, Gelbvieh and ,maybe, beefmaster but supply will be a problem with beefmaster.

Just stick with angus? Crossbreed? Sell the cows and raise mary juana?

What would you do? :???:

I would use a terminal angus bull with very high carcass traits.

I would go with the weed. Smoke enuf and you won't care what 5cwt's are selling for.

That's what I was thinking. Not that I would know from personal experience. I just read about it somewhere. Yeah, that's it, I read about it. :hide:
