Newbie* With 2 Questions

First of all Hello from the newbie!
My Jersey just had her calf today and I need to know when I need to start milking her Also How long until the milk is good for consumption? 3 Days?...

Are you going to let the calf nurse on her? Will you use her milk for your consumption? Once they calf, its time to milk her or let the calf feed onher, depending on what your plans are.

We will be keeping the milk and allowing the calf to nurse...

As long as she wasn't dry treated at the end of her previous lactation with antibiotics you can start drinking the milk anytime...but you probably don't want to drink colostrum!! eww. The milk should be normal in 3 days or so.

as said milk her out for 4 or 5 days.an then the milk should be nice an white.then you can drink it.assuming that she has not been dry treated less than 35 days ago.
