Cab and chassis Ford or Dodge, MSRP including destination charges of say $50k. With all the incentives, rebates, etc., what would one expect to write a check for straight out in your area? In other words, the actual selling price or how much one could expect to get knocked off the MSRP.

Thanks.

I don;t know. Why don;t you come out here and check with a couple of the local Ford dealers?

Your driving right by the factory soon so stop and see.
Seriously, there will be a display and a lot of each company's representatives at the Farm Show. Some discounts also

I bought last year and I'm kicking tires now. May take me a few months to find the deal, but I've been looking.
4 door, 4x4 diesel auto, rolling chassis with modest package (tradesman)
38,000- 42,000

You won't always get the best deal by paying cash. They make money by selling loans as well. Sometimes signing the note and paying it off may do better.

I went thru Dodge's website this morning, 2 door, 4x4, diesel, 6 speed, cab and chassis with power locks/windows and cloth interior - MSRP was $47k for a Tradesman and just shy of $50k for a SLT.

Have you had any front end issues with your Dodges? I own an '07 3500 now that's been giving me fits with the death wobble, only has 90k on it and I've replaced every part from the pitman arm down with the '09+ design, along with the track bar and a steering box brace, steering damper, etc. By far the worst truck I've ever owned. Wife has an '09 2500 and it's given us absolutely no trouble. I'd like to have another Dodge solely for the engine and manual transmission, but am gun shy because of this.

My usual strategy on a work truck is patience. Contact dealers far and wide.
Let them know what you require. 4x4, diesel etc.
I don't care about color etc. The truck I'm driving now I didn't even know what color it was when I went to pick it up.
Eventually a salesman while find a bastuurd somewhere that needs to be moved.

I dealt with the death wobble on a 2005
A new steering damper always fixed it.
Besides that and the typical interior issues it was a great truck for 10 years and over 300,000 I sold it to a neighbor who's still using it. Looking to replace it by early summer.

I hate the games dealers play, and have cussed more than a few of them and walked out - wife no longer shops with me for that reason. If I go down this path, I was just planning to RFQ it out to any dealer within 5 or 6 hours of here - further if I had a recommendation.

I've replaced the steering damper twice, the first Rancho did absolutely nothing and the latest (a $250 King off-road be-all-end-all) hasn't stopped it either.

Check the track bar bushings, and have it aligned if it hasn't been recently, pay special attention to the caster.

I'm sure you've already checked but if you haven't, every other joint and bushing in the front end needs to be checked as well, (inner/outer tie rods, ball joints, pitman arm, drag link).

Last two trucks we bought were from Salomn Springs, AR and Aurora, IL. Flew to OK to pick up the one, drove 250+ miles to get the other. You should get 10k off anything over 50k. And 8k anything under. I do not talk to anyone until i'm 95 % sure, they will kill your time quick. The internet speeds up the process dramatically. I have a system now that works really well and doesn't take 3 days of clicking and screen shopping. Also, don't trade in.

Laura Buick GMC in Southern IL is either the largest or 2nd largest GMC dealer in country. Wholesale prices. Their number one goal is to move units, and get their bonuses (end of month would be a good time to go). Their inventory is insane. My dad worked their part time for a while, easiest job ever. All he did was drive back and forth to the STL airport picking up customers. Some from as far as South FL.

You'll find what you're wanting if you look in the right places.

Before I bought my truck in AR in 2012, my buddy told me the same thing, 10k off, don't buy it till you find the place that'll do it. Could get 12k off the Denali type 3/4 also, I've seen it numerous time. (sorry never dealt with dodge or ford ..... I would guess there's similarities?)

Brand new aftermarket HD adjustable track bar, 3 trips to the local shop with a front end specialist with 30+ years experience, all adjustments in spec.

Every part you've mentioned has been replaced with updated HD parts within the last 5k miles. Only part that hasn't been replaced is the steering box, and it seems ok.

Couldn't tell you, but Ford has reputation around here for having the highest jacked up list prices so that they appear
to be giving you the biggest 'discount/bargain' when closing the deal.... (appearances can be deceiving)

You could try getting the kit to get some positive caster. I don't know why Dodge trucks come with zero to negative caster but they tell me it's that geometry that makes them prone to the wobble.

On my last Dodge my mechanic just put in a whole new aftermarket tie rod assembly, I think it cost about $300, fixed it right up.

I thought he was jerking me around.......I took Fence's advice and made a few calls.(It was good advice...never hurts to have a little more info than they think) He was within a couple hundred when it was said and done. He's also been very good after the sale. Tell him I sent you, and I'll split the referral with ya. ;-)
