I seeded some alfalfa and brome this spring with a bushel of oats as a nurse crop. I have a nice catch of alfalfa and brome. The oats is thin. Now it has turned hot and dry. Normally I cut the oats and new seeding after the oats heads out to give the new hay a nice start. I am wondering this year if I would be better of to leave it stand until fall and then clip and bale what is there. I am not short of hay and my priority is to put the least stress on the new seeding. Advice? thanks Farmguy.
