I planted Tifton9 in March and it hasn't rained since(not much). The grass is coming slowly, but the weeds are two foot high. Is it OK to bushhog or will it damage the young grass?

Hello North

I would think you need to get the weeds clipped before they go to seed.

Chances are, you will do more damage by driving on the new grass than clipping it.

if you could spot spray without harming the grass too much that would be a good option. but mowing would work too. not only to prevent them from seeding but to keep them from choking out the grass. of course a lot of it depends on what kind of weeds y ou are dealing with too.

not if you rope wick it on. it only kills the tall weeds the rope comes in contact with. the rope wipes the chemical on the plant only. just a option too think about

Forgive my lack of knowledge here, but how do you keep the wick from dripping?

well if its built right it shouldnt drip. sort of like a back rub works just targets the area needed

Thanks! I don't have any experience with wicking.
